The Farmer
Phil's green thumb might be a result of his kiwi roots. This New Zealand-born peony grower is happiest in the garden and when sharing the beauty of his flowers with others!
The Flower
In Greek mythology, Paeon, physician to the gods, greatly angered his teacher, Asclepius, by outshining him. Apollo's mother gave Paeon a magic root from Mt. Olympus. He used a milky extract from the root to cure Hades. A jealous Asclepius threatened to kill Paeon. Either a grateful Hades, or Zeus, saved him by turning him into the root’s beautiful flower, the peony.
No matter the origin, peonies are spectacular, and we think it is one of Mother Nature’s most beautiful flower.
